Shakai Mondai is the electronic pop alias of Philadelphia-based artist Rachel Ishikawa. 'No Face' is the first music from this project to be formally released since 2015's acclaimed Bad EP for Odd Castles. A requiem for renaissance ("I need a second chance"), 'No Face' contains many of the elements Ishikawa is sonically known for, from deep, emotive synths and grounding drum machines to the careful, haunting contours of Ishikawa's vocal melodies.
'No Face' is out now as part of Astro Nautico's Atlantics X series, a mutual aid campaign benefitting community members impacted by COVID-19 (priority to BIPOC). All income from these releases' sales and streams is gathered into a microfund paying community members up to $500 USD in microgrants according to their needs.
