Atlantics X: The Definitive Collection is a compilation celebrating ten years of Astro Nautico’s history as a label and benefiting our Atlantics X mutual aid project, which we created in April in response to the outbreak of Covid-19.

This album compiles singles from every release in Astro Nautico’s Atlantics X series together with Bandcamp-exclusive remixes, including one track from each of the 14 entries in the Atlantics X catalog and remixes by lil'dave and Astro Nautico co-founders Paul Jones, Sam O.B., and Bennett Kuhn.

This spring Astro Nautico reached out to our community members to identify members’ needs and raise money to counter the rapid collapse of the live music economy. We also asked artists for in-kind donations of music, which became the 16 releases in the Atlantics X series. All streams, sales, and donations related to this music have established a mutual aid fund.

The Atlantics X fund has so far raised and paid artists $4,262.65 with priority to BIPOC. All sales of the Bandcamp-exclusive Definitive Collection bring us closer to meeting the artists’ total needs ($10,300).

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
